The workshop TEDx Adventures was a three day collaborative experience to discuss and generate ideas on the Future of Work. It involved young people, recent graduates and professionals from the Campania region of Italy and it took place as a complementary event to the TEDxCaserta 2015.
During the workshop the facilitators introduced topics around micro-entrepreneurship, civic activism, forms of hacking, agriculture 2.0 and digital craftsmanship, positioning them within new models of a service based economy, sharing economy and practices of Social Innovation. The participants worked in teams through processes of co-design and with the support of industry mentors to develop six ideas of products, services and initiatives based on innovative models of work, to contribute to the creation of economical, cultural and social value within the local context.
The idea generation was visualized through scribbling techniques and each idea was exhibited on a panel during the TEDx night. Both the creative process of the workshop and the main findings were presented in an extra TEDx talk by the facilitators:
- The future of work is purpose driven and seeks happiness, instead of being profit driven and seeking growth.
- The future of work is collaborative and requires new spaces, specifically designed for each socio-cultural context.
- The future worker will combine making activities with focused intellectual tasks, through compact enabling technologies.
- The future worker treats skills, time, sociality and conviviality as assets to barter with or for sharing.
